What is the RISE SDoH Policy Forum?
The RISE Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) Policy Forum, in partnership with Aligning for Health, unites policymakers, policy experts, and practitioners across health and social services sectors to explore and advance social determinants of health policy. This unique gathering facilitates direct engagement with government leaders on federal initiatives, while also providing insights into innovative programs and best practices from state and local governments, payers, providers, community-based organizations, and health networks. Attendees gain a comprehensive understanding of policies and programs promoting data sharing, collaboration, financing, accountability, and equity to drive stronger communities and better health outcomes.

Registration Questions

How do I register for RISE SDoH Policy Forum?
There are two ways to register for RISE SDoH Policy Forum. For self service, you can visit sdohpolicy.risehealth.org and navigate to the Register button in the top right corner. If you prefer assistance in the registration process, please contact our conference concierge, Terrence Johnson, at tjohnson@risehealth.org or 704.341.2647 and he will take care of it for you.

How much does it cost to register for this event?
Pricing varies based on the organization you work for. Please visit sdohpolicy.risehealth.org/rates to see a full price list.

What is included in the registration fee?
Access to all event sessions taking place on Monday, December 2nd, Tuesday, December 3rd, and Wednesday, December 4th and the event materials from those sessions, meals and refreshments as outlined in the agenda, and ample networking opportunities. 

When is the deadline for registration?
You may register at any time, up until the day of the event. However, the price does increase the longer you wait.

Does the registration include air transportation and hotel accommodations?
All costs for air transportation and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee.

Are meals included with my conference registration?
Yes, gourmet meals are provided for all attendees for breakfast and lunch during the main conference days (Monday, December 2nd, Tuesday, December 3rd, and Wednesday, December 4th). Evening hors d'oeuvres and beer, wine, and cocktails will be offered at the welcome reception on Monday, December 2nd, and the evening networking reception on Tuesday, December 3rd. Please check the agenda for times and availability. While effort is made to accommodate broad dietary requirements, if you have an extreme allergy or dietary restriction, you are encouraged to arrange for meals as necessary.

Is there single-day registration available?
No, you will need to register for the entire event.

Are there group discounts available if we have more than one person who wants to register for an event?

I am with the media. Are complimentary press passes available?

What are the hotel options for RISE SDoH Policy Forum?
We have negotiated special rates at properties in Washington, D.C. Visit sdohpolicy.risehealth.org/venue to see available accommodations. The hotel sells out quickly, so we recommend booking your stay as soon as you register for RISE SDoH Policy Forum.

How do I make hotel reservations to receive the discounted rate?

Can I book a hotel if I haven’t registered for RISE SDoH Policy Forum it yet?
No. Our special rates at each room block are reserved for RISE SDoH Policy Forum registrants only.

Is there a shuttle service available from the hotel to the conference?
The Forum is being held at the hotel where you will be booking your stay.

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to The Omni Shoreham Hotel, you have several transportation options:

  1. Taxi or rideshare: Taxis and rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are readily available at DCA. Simply follow signs to the designated pickup area for taxis or rideshare services, and request a ride to The Omni Shoreham Hotel. The journey typically takes around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

  2. Metro: You can take the Washington Metro's Yellow Line from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to the Columbia Heights station, which is the nearest Metro station to The Omni Shoreham Hotel. From there, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel. Alternatively, you can transfer to a bus or take a short taxi/rideshare ride from the Metro station to the hotel.

Will there be networking opportunities at the event(s)?
Yes! Networking is a major reason attendees return to RISE SDoH Policy Forum year after year. We understand the importance of networking for professional development, and our goal is to create an environment where you can build valuable connections that extend far beyond the conference. RISE SDoH Policy Forum is designed to offer diverse networking opportunities to enhance your experience, including 9 hours of networking baked into the agenda to ensure there is plenty of time for peer-to-peer exchange during scheduled networking breaks, informal meet-and-greet cocktail receptions, all-day access to the exhibit hall, and hallway chats.

Are presentations available for download?
Yes, all RISE SDoH Policy Forum attendees will receive access to the conference materials.

Do you have to pre-register for sessions?
No, unless there are special activities planned with limited openings or if there are pre-conference workshops on the program. Be sure to check the event guide for more information.

Onsite Questions

What is the dress code at RISE SDoH Policy Forum?
We aim to create a comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere, allowing you to bring your best self to the professional setting with a business casual dress code. Feel free to express your personalized style using business casual as the guide.

Do you have to check in each day of the conference?
No, you only have to check in the day you arrive so you can pick up your badge. A badge is required for access to all areas of the conference.

How do I make a request for special needs or meals?

Will there be a dedicated space for lactating moms available onsite?
Yes, absolutely! We understand the importance of providing a comfortable and private space for lactating moms. Upon request, a dedicated room will be available onsite to ensure your needs are met during your time at the event. Simply reach out to our staff, and they will assist you in accessing this facility. Your comfort and convenience are our priority.

Does RISE SDoH Policy Forum have a code of conduct?
Yes. By attending a RISE event, you agree to abide by our code of conduct while onsite and agree to contribute to a positive and respectful environment for all participants. Violations of this code of conduct may result in actions such as warnings, removal from the conference, or legal consequences, depending on the severity of the violation and RISE’s discretion.

All conference participants including attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect and professionalism; harassment, discrimination, offensive language, threats and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner during sessions, receptions, and sponsored activities
  • Engage in collaborative conversations and idea exchange in a respectful and constructive manner
  • Report any suspicious or concerning behavior to RISE staff promptly

All weapons and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited. Any conference participant who is asked to leave the event will not be reimbursed for any portion of their attendance fee.

If there are any giveaways at RISE SDoH Policy Forum who is eligible to receive them?
Most giveaways are available only to attendees from health plans, health care providers, and similar organizations. Giveaways are not available for sponsors or vendors.

If you are registering online, we accept all major credit cards. If you register through a conference concierge, we accept credit card or can issue an invoice.

Will I receive a paid receipt for online registrations?
Yes, a receipt will be sent to the email you provide to us at registration.

How can I cancel my registration?
Please email confirm@risehealth.org. All cancellations will receive full credit equivalent to your paid registration amount to be used on an event of your choosing within 12-months from date of cancellation. Cancellation payment credits can be used either by the person listed on the registration or a colleague from the same company

If I am unable to attend the event, can someone substitute for me, or could I receive a credit for a future event?
Please email your substitution request to confirm@risehealth.org. You may substitute registrants from the same organization.
